Q: What is a head boat ?
A: A head boat is a boat that stops and anchors over wreck & rock formations and everybody fishes at once. There could be as many as 70 to 80 passengers on the boat with you. The boat is not always that crowded. Head boats usually fish for such species as Red Snapper, Grouper, Trigger Fish, Amberjack,. You purchase an individual ticket for each person in your group.
Q: What time do the boats depart?
A: The full day trip departs at 6:00am and returns at 5:00 pm.
The Half Day trip departs at 7:00 am and returns at 2:00 pm
The Shark fishing departs at 7:00 pm and returns at 11:00 pm
Q: What time should I be at the boat prior to departure?
A: At least 30 minutes prior.
Q: Do the boats go out year round?

Q: What kind of fish are the head boats fishing for and is there a certain season for certain fish?
A: The type of fish that are caught are Red Snapper, Grouper, Trigger Fish, Amberjack, Sea Bass. These fish do not migrate so they can be caught year round.
Q: Is there a difference in the fish that I will be able to catch on a half day trip and the full day trip?
A: Yes! On the full day trip you go further out you get more fish time so that means more fish, and more varieties of fish.
Q: What is the difference between your 24 hr. and a shorter trip that I could take.
A: The biggest difference is that on a shorter trip or you can only catch a one days bag limit per person. If you stay at least the 24 hr trip you can possess 2 day bag limit. (That=s a lot of fish )
Q: What is included in the price of a ticket?
A: Everything is included: bait, tackle, rod & reel, and a place to keep your fish while you are on the boat.
Q: What is not included?
A: Food & Beverages, ( you can purchase these in our galley) and Tips for mates ( customary to leave 10 to 20 % price of ticket).
Q: What am I allowed to bring?
A: You can bring your own food & beverage (no alcoholic beverages allowed we sell beer on the boat) you may also bring your own equipment if you wish. No empty coolers please.
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: Reels: 4/0 to 6/0 reels
Hooks: 2/0 to 5/0
Line: 40 to 80 lb test line
Q: What kind of bait do you use?
A: We use boston mackerel & squid. You may purchase specialty bait in our tackle shop.
Q: Can I get my fish cleaned when I get back to the dock?
A: Yes! We have a fish cleaning service here at the dock.
Q: Do I need to make reservations?
A: Yes. This is best done by calling our reservation # 1-800-533-9417. We also require a deposit of $ 25.00 p/p to hold reservations. This can be done after you make your reservation. By mailing in a check or money order or you may use any major credit card to hold reservation.
Q: Why do you do shark fishing at night?
A: The reason is that is when the shrimp trawlers are out fishing and when they are culling out there nets is when the sharks feed.
Q: Why do you do shark fishing only in the summer?
A: That is when the water is warmer and the sharks and fish move in closer.
Q: Do I need to bring special bait for shark fishing?
A: No. We provide everything needed for fishing.

Q: What is a Charter Boat?
A: Private charter boats are where a group (6 or less) gets together and rents the boat to themselves. Costing $ 700.00 to 1100.00 per boat) . The boats do mostly trolling however we do have several that can do bottom fishing also. Trolling is where the boat puts out 6 lines at varying depths & lengths and is moving the whole time dragging baits usually the group decides between them selves in which order they will fish. This is done because sometimes the fish may only hit one line. You can catch such species as Blue Marlin, Blue Fin Tuna , Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, (Dolphin) , King Mackerel, Blue Fish, Spanish Mackerel.
Q: What kind of fish are caught and what is the best season?
A: Nov - Feb: Giant Blue Fin Tuna, Wahoo, King Mackerel
March - Nov: Marlin, Yellow Fin tuna, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Sailfish,
Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi
Q: What is included in the charter fee?
A: Everything for fishing is included. Food & Beverage and tips for mates are not included. You may bring your own food or you can make arrangement through us for box lunches. Tips are customarily 10 to 20 % the cost of the trip.
Q: How many boats to you have at your facility?
A: We have about 13 boats ranging in size from 32 ft to 65 ft for charter.
Q: How many people can I bring in our party?
A: You can only bring up to 6 passengers in your group.
Q: How far ahead of time should I make reservations?
A: You should make reservations as soon as you have a time frame in mind . This will make it easier for you to get the boat that fits your needs. Its best to call our toll free # 1-800-533-9417 for reservations. You will also be required to either send a deposit of 2 the cost of the charter or you may hold it over the phone with any major credit card.
